College can be a fantastic life-changing experience. Of course, much of that depends on where you are living during those college years. Alumni from your university will almost always recommend choosing Brown University student housing over any other options. There are many reasons why this is so.

Choose Your Location

If you decide to live in student apartments, you can basically choose your own location. If you want to be near the campus, you can do that. If you want to be closer to downtown areas, you can do that as well. When you choose dormitory living, you are basically stuck in one location, and it can seem, at times, that you never really leave the campus.

Saves Money

Believe it or not, the cost of living on campus is significantly more than the cost of renting your own apartment. The main reason for this is that colleges charge premiums when they rent you a dorm room. With Brown University student housing, the rent you pay is completely upfront.

Easy Commute

Many colleges offer commuter passes to those students who choose not to live on campus. This can save you a great deal of money and, in many cases, even be free. By taking public transportation, you forego the need to own a vehicle while attending college, along with all of the other extraneous costs that vehicles incur, as well as eliminate the hassle of trying to find a parking spot every time you go to classes.
